I couldn't find a similar thread, so here goes:

I'm pretty good at managing my family's Qantas Accounts and helping everyone to achieve their desired Status for the Year, so I was pretty shocked to find that I had miscalculated (or so I thought) by several hundred Status Credits for one member’s final push to Lifetime Gold. I had kept a running total and methodically chased up (and if you've chased up QFF Status Credits, you'll know how frustrating this can be) Base and Double Status Credits.

After being messed around for months of phone calls, emails, screen shots and empty promises from QFF offshore call centres, I finally used a business card from someone I met at a P1 event. Last night I received the Activity Statement for the past 28 years and finally some long overdue missing DSCs.

Entire reference to flights have been removed from the statements. Not just the Double Status Credits, but the Base flights and points as well.

Has anyone else actually checked their running total?.... and if so, is it accurate?

I keep a spreadsheet and also download the monthly statements and they all seem accurate.

Any idea in what timeframe they disappeared in?
Remember, Qantas migrated to its new platform a year go. Maybe something got left behind.

The first glaringly obvious ones are from International flights on 10th August 2017 (with Double Status Credits). Any reference to the flights have disappeared altogether. When I have more time, I'll go back through my records and look for others.

Unfortunately I haven't printed out the monthly Activity Statements, but I did check those flights & DSCs from my Task List at the time.

I obviously should have kept done the same thing. Ironically I was doing this in the early days, but stopped!

Qantas are “looking into it” 8-)

mmmm. I wonder how many times I’ll have to chase them up?

I haven’t had enough spare time to have a good look and I’ve only spot checked 2 trips to NZ in Aug & Dec 2017 and everything has disappeared. I wonder what a thorough look is going to reveal?

I used to do this and after reading this thread I will be updating my spreadsheet and maintaing it!
Also worth keeping boarding passes as these are the evidence QF will ask for.
I always make sure I collect a paper boarding pass AND an electronic pass in my apple wallet.

The biggest problems are No year on the boarding passes and they don’t show if the tickets were purchased with points or revenue. Tripit is great for keeping accurate records!

I have a folder where I take photos of my boarding passes and rarely discard them. With the electronic ones if you take a screen shot at least you'll have a date near when it was taken. I hadn't thought about whether they are revenue or points - mind you I have emails going back years and could probably find them if I needed to.

They are so capricious in the proof they demand.
I succesfully claimed points for a flight on Air Vanuatu but they only gave me economy points for a business class flight.
When I chased it up they demanded boarding passes.
Why at that stage?

I’ve had to provide proof of the DSC Offers, Proof of Registration & Proof of the flights.

....and then follow up, and follow up, and follow up. ALL of my emails to [email protected] generate an automated response, but very few ever result in the promised call back or contact from QFF.

What a load of Bullsh!t

Surely this constant failure to deliver on promises and service only serves to alienate members!

Because they basically go with what the other airline tells them. In the initial claim, it's usually just an automated thing.
Air Vanuatu would have told the economy for whatever reason.

Also, Air Vanuatu has to pay QFF for the points, right? So Qantas doesn't really want to award points that haven't been purchased by the partner airline. In these cases they have to in turn provide that proof to the partner airline, I suppose (or at least have it available in case Qantas' invoice to the partner is disputed).

That's pretty much how it works with all partners. They pay Qantas for the points. Qantas will just award you what the partner tells them.

AS stated not a Qantas issue.
This would be a Air Vanuatu issue, they get the claim and the approve the claim or not, not Qantas.

Update: Apparently this is a “system glitch”.

I will now have to check all the entries very carefully.

I’m not nearly busy enough. LOL
