Get a 20% Qantas Club Discount as an AFF Gold or Platinum member

Since late 2023, we have a new simplified procedure for requesting your discount.

As an AFF Gold or Platinum member, you can request an individual promo code and then use this directly on the Qantas website. This means quicker access to your discount, and you'll receive renewal notifications directly from Qantas.

The new system activated on 1st December 2023.

Go to the AFF Member Lounge page to request your discount under Qantas Club discount:

See this AFF article for the current Qantas Club prices: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/discounted-qantas-club-membership/

If you're unsure about how to claim your discount, please see this guide: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/aff-qantas-club-discount/

Hi team,

I just joined AFF as a gold member (thanks for the nice welcomes in my intro thread!), and have a question.

Since I am flying for work again (after a few years off) I decided to rejoin Qantas Club (was a previous member year's ago and was QF Gold for a few years as well). I saw that AFF provided a reduced rate on Qantas Club. So I requested my discount through the AFF member's page yesterday.

Question - how long does it usually take to receive the discount code which I can then apply to the Qantas Club application? I assume I will receive the code via email from AFF? (Reason I ask is that I am flying to the USA next week and want to join Qantas Club before that)

Thanks,
JRD1973

Have you checked to see if employer offers a discount and whether you can also salary sacrifice to join out of pre-tax dollars?

When I was only silver but flying syd-mel heaps I could salary sacrifice.

Thanks Lynda - yes I did try that and no they don't sadly. A former employer did and I used that at the time.

Thanks Steady @Steady . How do I reach Admin - do they have an email address or is it an account on here I can message? (sorry for the newbie questions)
The user name of admin is "admin"

Look here for QF club AFF offer

Links are more clumsy than they used to be.

Left click the letter button next to your account name, select start new conversation, type Adm in the recipient field and select admin when it come up then treat it like an email

Hi JRD1973,

Welcome to the AFF, glad to have you with us, and thank you for your introduction on the forum!

Regarding your inquiry about the Qantas Club discount code:

Once you've made your request through the AFF Member's lounge page, our team verifies your membership level and will then issue the discount code to you via email along with the necessary instructions. The process typically takes about 1-2 business days, so you should receive it well ahead of your flight to the USA next week.

Once you receive the code, you'll be able to immediately apply it through the Qantas Club website.

For our members transitioning from the old AFF corporate scheme, please rest assured that we are coordinating with Qantas to streamline your renewal experience. Detailed instructions will be included in the email that contains your discount code.

Safe travels to the US

I have the exact same question, that you posed in January JRD1973. Just wondering how long it took for you to get the email from AFF so you could then proceed through QF? Was it a straight forward process once you had the email from AFF? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I too am travelling to the USA and then on to Europe in a little over a week.

@AFF Editor Does the 20% discount on Qantas Club Membership for Gold or Platinum AFF members apply to payment of Qantas Club membership by points or only by cash? I'm just short on Qantas points, but a 20% discount on the points required would get me there. Can you please confirm? Many thanks!

Hi @Flexter, the 20% Qantas Club discount for AFF Gold and Platinum members can only be used when paying for Qantas Club membership with money. It's not available when paying for Qantas Club with points. Sorry about that.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently on silver and figured it would be cheaper for me to buy a 1 year membership for Qantas Club then keep my business class booking I made during DSC promo to get to gold (I'll get >700 credits in my next membership year so this is just for 1 year). I'm just wondering if any of you know a good way to decrease the price for a Qantas Club membership? I looked at the partner membership and that seemed quite viable from the way they described the eligibility until I read through the T&Cs. One of my parents has QC and since I still live with them while I'm at university I thought it could count but the conditions make it clear that it has to be a relationship so I suppose not. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

AFF Gold members can get a 20% discount off membership & renewal fees (just not the joining fee if you're a new member). AFF Gold membership costs $75/year but the discount is more than that.

You might also be able to get a discount through Qantas Business Rewards, with an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card, or a free membership if you get to Points Club Plus.

There's also rumours of Qantas introducing a monthly plan; might be worth holding on and trying to scrounge entry passes unless you have a lot of travel planned.

The Qantas Renewal Code you sent was for New Memberships and Qantas do not recognise this code!!! Please explain.
I must admit that I don’t have a clue as to what your post means, but welcome to AFF.
