Not sure if this has been posted before. Received an email from QF overnight offering me QC at a substantial discount:
As one of our regular flyers, we'd like to remind you of the benefits you could receive as a member of The Qantas Club. To recognise your ongoing support of Qantas, we're offering you the chance to access these benefits by becoming a Qantas Club member once again at exclusive rates.
Your exclusive Qantas Club membership rates*
1 Year: A$245.00 (incl. $22.27 GST). You save A$160.00.
2 Years: A$395.00 (incl. $35.91 GST). You save A$335.00.
Our 4 Year membership option is also available at the standard rate of A$1370.00 (incl. $124.55 GST).
These rates represent savings of up to 46% on the standard membership fees, are not transferable and are only available for a limited time. We're also waiving the join fee which would normally apply, saving you a further A$370.00.
Quite a good offer, but of little use to me as I am AA emerald (would help out for US domestic flights, I guess)
Funnily, although it says "as one of our regular flyers", I am not a regular QF flyer, as far as QF is concerned (I always credit to AA, except for a heavily discounted LHR-SYD a couple of months back, that I credited to QF; I also had a QF award flight about 10 months ago). But I guess that makes financial sense - sign up people to the QC if they think that you aren't going to use it.
