So my work situation has changed and my flying has reduced quite a bit. The flying I do now is with Virgin however our fares are non-points-earning .

Basically... what this means is it's time for a change with my credit card and personal flying points earning.

I've currently got the Earth Black (Westpac) and Qantas Credit Union Visa. These all direct credit to Qantas. As I no longer fly Qantas, there seems little point in continuing to earn to their program. I'm trying to decide which way to move forward and chances are somebody here will know better than I!

Most of my private flying is to SE Asia and the USA. Ideally, I'd like to use points for J redemptions to both. This is why QFF isn't much use to me as availability is poor and points/taxes high.

I can swap the Earth Black to Altitude Black and earn to Enrich, KrisFlyer or Asia Miles. This leaves me without a Visa/MC backup. Are there any 1:1 or better Visa/MC's for these programs? The Credit Union card will obviously be ditched.

Is there anyway to easily earn to the AA or US programs with Australian Credit Cards?

Ideally... I'd like an Amex with 1.5:1 and Visa/MC with 1:1.

Probably looking at roughly $100k per year through the cards.

Any help is appreciated!

Altitude Black is a good plan. Plus for a 1ppd card I'd go the Citibank Signature (unless you earn enough for the 1.33ppd Select). Also, I'd consider the Amex Plat Edge for some supercharged 2ppd/3ppd earning at petrol stations and supermarkets with the annual fee made up for by the free flight. That Amex will also go to AA via SPG (at 0.625 AA points per MR point). Good luck!

Thanks. I'll have a look at the citi cards.

Enrich seems the way to go. Very competitive J awards to SE Asia and the long way around to the US with what seems to be good availability.
