Just received an email from dealsdaily with a pretty good offer for the DJ Amex card.

30K of MR points for $99 seems a bargain. Throw in 3 points : $ spend at supermarkets and petrol stations, 2 points : $ at Djs and then 1 point : $ for everything else. Only $99 a year annual fee.

Considering how cough the Amex Plat edge insurance is I don't think the lack of insurance with the card is a biggie.

Only issue I have is they charge $29 / year for supplementary cards - waived for the first year.

Any more details? And be careful as to which type of MR the 30k goes into.

It's 30k points into the separate David Jones MR points. Not the same and not combinable with normal Amex MR points.

FWIW guys - IMHO this card is a DUD - MAJOR DUD.

I applied / approved and cancelled - it is a DUD.

Yes got the toy / synthetic / imitation / fake DJ Amex MR pts which transfer at 2:1 whereas Amex REAL MR pts transfer at 1:1.

22.5k QF points for $99 and 2.25QF points per $ at major supermarkets and fuel is a dud!?!

Plus transfers to starwood are the same as the std AMEX - 2:1 (if you go the DJ Amex points route)

As i'm not willing to pay $900 in fees and will not be putting $250,000 through the card this, (or any other) month, it actually looks like a good candidate for my wallet (with the currently higher than normal bonus)...but certainly not a good everyday spend card.

Although they are disingenuous calling the points a 'MR point', when it is clearly not. Should really call it a DJ AMEX point or suchlike to distinguish it from the 'real' program

I thought it was a reasonable deal too and recently took delivery of mine. Just wondered, for anyone else that did...did you get a very pleasant, ahem, surprise after making your first 3 transactions? ;)

Does anyone have a valid (working) link for the 20k+ bonus QFF points (or 30k other points), as ive looked at the DJ website in which it shows eithrr 15k / 11.5k QFF.

I accessed it by 'claiming' an offer on Facebook...maybe try and find it there.

I have just recently acquired one of these cards and got my promised 30,000 points after the first 3 spends. Anything else I should be looking for? ;)

Only problem is (hard to believe I know!) but I got this card without searching this forum first!! I assumed they were 30,000 MR points as advertised... not happy to find out they are these DJ rewards points. I think I'm going to call them tomorrow...

To be honest I think this should've been pretty clear from reading any of the product details...30k DJMR = 22.5k QF points for $99...that's not so bad! And sometimes the deal is even sweeter! :D

My promo material only says until Jan 6? I applied before then, but wasn't approved until after but they confirmed I'd still get the 30K points. Might be worth a call to check.

I couldn't find anything on the conversion from the DJMR to SPG other than minimum 1,000 point transfers. Where did you find this? Cheers.
