Going on a boozey boys weekend up to Brisbane to see the AFL footy in June. I have an 11am flight booked to go home to MEL on the Sunday - rock-bottom $79 sale fare.
We have since learned that we will not be going straight home to MEL, but via Sydney to see an NRL match on the Sunday afternoon.
I can't cancel my 11am flight, which is perfectly OK. I knew what I was getting when I booked the fare. I now want to book a multiflight at 11am from BNE to SYD and then from SYD to MEL that night.
When I check in, will there be mass confusion because I will technically be booked on two flights out of BNE at 11am? Like I said, I am more than happy to forfeit the first fare, but I would also like to cancel it so that A: there is no confusion when I check in and B: so that someone else had the opportunity to sit in my seat if the plan is fully loaded.
Oh, and it's not feasible to use the cheap fare and then fly up to SYD from MEL. Timings are wrong and it would cost a few hundred more.
