"VIRGIN BLUE is in talks with US manufacturer Boeing about buying up to $4 billion of new aircraft to replace a large portion of its 65-strong 737 domestic fleet......."

Virgin set for take-off with $4b Boeing deal

Interesting that there is a clear mention that they are not talking to Airbus at all, which I find surprising for reasons posted in the Airbus Virgin thread http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/com...n/what-chances-virgin-buying-airbus-6052.html

Wonder what value they get for their fleet with the free to air bumps making them somewhat unique, perhaps they will just refit them to new aircraft ?

Interesting point

I wonder how easy it is to remove the bumps as they probably are not compatible with other networks/countries Satellite TV systems.

Such a shame they are only considering single aisled aircraft and only Boeing.... Surely they are in a strong enough position that they could put some widebodies on the Golden Triangle route??

The pay tv - who cares, its cough - install AVOD DJ instead and then we will have a competitor!
