So who else is "stranded"? I find myself here in ADL and hoping to leave tomorrow at lunchtime but to be honest, I wouldn't mind being "stuck" here...

Especially considering they're willing to reimburse me$220 a day, that'd pay quite nicely for a day off?

Not strand myself but I'm on a 6 am flight tomorrow from ADL. I guess @$220 a day I won't see you sleeping at the airport tomorrow morning ;)

Hopefully I'm not strand next week.

Ouch I feel for you guys...:)

I used to enjoy flying DJ, was a silver frequent flyer on my way to
Gold but was finding that domestic flights were been increasingly delayed. Late last
year there was an outage similar to this one that resulted in me having to stay
overnight in Brisbane at my own expense. Emails to Customer Service went
unanswered and when I finally got to speak to someone, they were unapologetic
and indifferent. I voted with my feet, moved to Qantas and so did 3 of my
colleagues who shared a similar experience! Am silver now on Qantas on my way to Gold

Good to see that this time round DJ have learnt their lesson and are taking care of their customers!

I was told second, or possibly third hand today from a neighbour that someone they knew who was stranded in Sydney did get put up in a hotel for the night and did get a free taxi ride to the hotel but when he enquired about getting back to the airport was told he'd have to arrange himself.

Regardless of what people think should be covered by the airlines/travel insurance it seems odd to pay one way but not the other.

I agree - as it is their fault that you aren't home they need/should pay all expenses associated with not being home, accommodation, food, transfers etc. And rebook wihtout penalty.

Wether or not this happens however is a whole other story...

Having said that, not that i fly as often as some on this board but in all my flights i have only had one significant delay and that was last Wednesday out of HBA due to a storm in BNE. As far as I am concerned it's public transport and if that's the worst I get then so be it!

Was that a joke, or haven't you used Metro buses :?:, even with a working computer system they can't be on time

 Trust me, they are way worse than ANY airline (Even TT)
