Virgin chief swoops on Qantas executives

Interesting bits from the article:

SMH Article said:
Jane McKeon, general manager of government and international relations at Qantas for more than 10 years, left the airline yesterday. She will start at Virgin within months as Mr Borghetti pays special attention to beefing up the airline's government relations team.
...
Qantas's head of pricing, Will Owens, has also left to take over as Virgin head of yield management. He is regarded as one of the better yield managers in the industry.

Alan Joyce mustn't be best impressed about this.. ;)

I guess they both liked working with John better than Alan.

Or need a change of scene.

Or were offered more money and possibly a better work lifestyle.

Or QF didn't lock JB's contract & exit terms enough to stop him from poaching staff.

He did stay out of the industry for quite a while so I think QF did as well as they could.

As nlagalle mentioned QF would have a hard time proving they were poached. Maybe they just wanted a change and as DJ is the other big airline it is a natural move for staff.

I am sure however if QF wanted them to stay bad enough they would have.
