Well, I am stuffed. Those that were aware of an earlier thread where I was contemplating whether or not to Requal with DJ or move all flight to QF and reach Silver or Gold. I decided with all the Virgin "Changes" I would hang out.

Below are the flights undertaken since Jan this year, with every flight on DJ, in some cases I opted to commute in lieu of staying over night to bump up the SC's.

This is how I stand at the moment. There is also an Adelaide-Sydney tonight in PE as my back is screwed from a combination of plane seats and coughpy hotel beds. I had to upgrade to PE as I couldn't bear to fly cramped into an oversold flight, off to the chiropractor when I get back to Brisbane for a realignment which should see my right for another few months.

There was a bit of a debacle trying to upgrade to PE at the A/port, was told I could not use Velocity points at the check in desk, so I had to call Velocity. Rang them and they informed me it would be 5400 Velocity points, (Not bad I thought) and when she went to request it, said she could not do it as I had already [web] checked-in. So was transferred to virgin, where I asked to be Un-Checked-in and then redirected back to Velocity where I again requested an upgrade, after being on hold for 20 minutes, I was told it had now closed and I could not upgrade! When I explained not 15 minutes earlier I was told it was fine, she said well "for you ticket (blue saver) it had closed. instead of hurling abuse, I hung up and paid for an upgrade at the check in counter.... Come on DJ

Still 30k points before I hit DJ Gold! at this rate, I will have to keep flying like this all year to get there! I can't help but wonder if it were miles based like QF, what level would I have made it to thus far?

On a side note, on the DJ 481 SYD-MCY, saw the new uniforms. Interesting coluor scheme.

This particular service certainly did “feel” improved. A little more professional and shortly after takeoff (before the seat belt sign came off) the Cabin Supervisor came down to row 4 offered 3 gentleman a seat in row 1 and 2 (All Gold) Great for me as I then had the seat next to me empty to spread out.

Well done DJ, well done.

However I have not witnessed the Op-Up event since.

You made silver in a month and a half, if you keep flying like that you'll be gold by the end of June.

With those flights you would have {about what Markis10 said (I can't count)}

You would be short of Silver with QFF based on activity since Jan (235 SC) and you starting with 0 status credits. Pure short range domestic flying is not known for its earn rates in economy regardless of who you fly, its the premium cabin and overseas options that help.

Yeah I feel it too.

It feels like a lot more then only a
Month and a half of flying! But I suppose when you look at it like that, it's not too bad.

After I posted I did a quick count and came up with between 235 and 245. Depending of course the seating purchased.

True to a point.. I earnt WP flying mostly Dom Y although it wasn't disc Y which helped a lot. My OS flights were all disc Y too.. :shock:

Had those flights listed above been flexi saver etc, you'd be halfway from silver to gold

Even on full economy status credits, your talking 70 flights to qual at 20SC each, throwing in slightly longer trips like to ADL from the East Coast, its still 50-60, at $300 each as a figure plucked from the air, its starting to make DJ look good in terms of tier attain costs, 50 flights is $15K of revenue.
