Do points from green tier count towards points club?

Hi, I just Green Tier. Was a toss up to get SCs or points. But as Im never likely to attain Gold and now just
under 50,000 for points club (by the end September) I opted to go for the points as thought this will add
on to my PC tally. But although points added strait away this did not seem to make a difference to Points club?

Bugga! Thanks for that. Had I realized I would have chosen SC to help (maybe) achieving at least lifetime silver- still a fair way to go for that though.

Now have to rethink my strategy to achieve PC+ !
