Do Qantas Price Match with BA?

I'm looking to travel BKK-LHR return in the next few weeks. BA have a special on at the moment where you can fly on BA or QF metal for ~$1400 AUD. The equivalent Qantas fare is hundereds of dollars more expensive.

BA have a price guarantee on their wbsite. Do Qantas do anything similar?

Also, as a status newbie, are their any disadvantages of booking via BA and does it matter if I fly on QF or BA metal?

Any advice appreciated.

for BKK-LHR it makes no odds whether you fly on BA or QF. It makes no odds where you buy the ticket from

The only difference is that a BA flight number will not count towards the 4 flights needed per annum on QF to attain or maintain QF status

Being 198cm tall in Y I usually manage an exit row. I know that you can pay to reserve them with both airlines now. Does anyone have any feedback on whether one is easier / more likely than the other?

In a word: No.

at least not to the general public, though they do sometimes offer price matches to Platinum Travel Agents and certian key companies.

You can pre-select them on BA if you have OW Sapphire status or attempt to get them at OLCI, but not aware of BA offering exit seats for sale

If you are booked on QF, QF now offers exit rows for sale at 7 days before departure

If you have sapphire status, you can check whether it is available on BA and pre-select otherwise QF will be a better chance of guaranteeing it
