Do you think my company will buy a corporate jet for me?

According to this article on Flight's web site Black eye prompts executive jet business case re-evaluation the accepted threshold for justification to own a corporate jet is 300 hours per year.

...accepted threshold of 300h for when it makes sense to own an aircraft as opposed to chartering or having a fractional share.
If I look at last year's records on Flightmemory.com, I amassed a total flight time of 325 hours. I think I'll put my hand up for a Gulfstream G550 :D

NOT! ;)

If you often had more than one person traveling then it may also make sense, i think we have a couple of jets and a few helicopters, (heli from the office to the airport, saves 20 mins of course)

I still think 300hr is low, private jets cost a lot of $$, you do see a lot of gulfstreams at SIN airport though :) and Paya Labor would also have some... so somebody must be buying since most seem to be latest models.
They look much more sexy than the IL-76 (Which i assume was just parking between cargo ops) that was parked next to them last week.

Its probably a true assesment if you multiply it by the target hourly salary, that 7.5 weeks of working week flying or 1/7th of the year!

I guess if you fly work hours... some of our senior staff (higher managers) seem to think that the best hotel is an overnight flight ! I think they are crazy,
normal work day, fly 12 hrs overnight, meeting and day in Europe, turn around, come back overnight, work again ! machines. Not for me, not even in F would i do that, then a couple of days later do the same thing somewhere in Asia... completely nuts if you ask me.

It's surprisingly easy to get comfortable on a Global Express, G550 et al.

Simple math - they can only afford one day away -that is the only way to do it. Flying by day its at least a three day trip

I dont dispute the math at all, i agree completely, but they must be earning even a lot more than i think they do earn to make it worthwhile, you need a life. Then again since they do this all year i guess you get used to it just like i used to get used to working thur/fri/sat nights and only having 2 or 3 hrs sleep, you just get used to it and it seems easy enough.
