OMG - get your minds above your navels you sick, demented and depraved people! I am talking about your luggage before you check it in:

I never wrapped luggage at airport - occasionally I wrap cases full of faulty parts in factory before taking back to suppliers but never have wrapped my personal luggage - do you?

Same. Valuables in hand luggage. If people want my clothes that bad - fine. I'll make an insurance claim and get new ones.
Never worried about the wrapping even into Bali after Corby's shenanigans.

No wrapping for me. But I do take a series of pictures of the contents on my phone as I pack it, and then the outside.

Don't even lock it. Got out of the habit of locking around the time of 911 when (possibly urban myth) I'd heard that "all locks will be cut open". But really who puts anything really valuable in checked-in luggage? Sure massive hassle not having clothes on arrival or someone nicking a favorite shirt but really everything in that bag should be replaceable. Probably putting my laptop charger in is not a good move and a few other small proprietory-type cables.

No wrapping for me. On my recent trip I didn't see many bags wrapped on the carousel.

I think it's a case of non-TSA approved locks being cut, the TSA ones on the other hand they have a key for, so they can steal your things (legally?).

Nope. I've always thought it a bit of a rip-off and quite pointless.

I don't put valuables in my checked luggage anyway in case it gets lost.

Oh my goodness pointless exercise. Yes costs big bucks and not negotiable so they don't have many clients from my own experience? Or do they?
What's stopping getting Glad-wrap and doing it your self.

This craze became very popular after Schapelle Corby case and the suspected planting of illegal Drugs. Therefore such wrapping was giving proof on wether your belongings had been tampered with.

Seems a bit pointless to me. Seems to only provide evidence of someone getting into your bag, but it's obviously after the fact and even then would it stand up in court if it was a "Schapelle" situation, particularly in places like Indonesia, Singapore et al, where one is assumed guilty until proven innocent?

That said, if I was checking in a cardboard box, the wrapping could add a bit of strength to the box so that everything doesn't fall out.

Don't wrap and don't lock. Only thing valuable I carry on myself is my credit card ,passport and iphone will most of the info cheers

We did flying to JNB.You don't really want to go out on a cruise with some hastily bought clothing replacements.
Second time when we flew out of GYE 4 months ago-but that was because the zipper on our bag failed and you needed something to keep everything in.

On the rare occasion I check luggage, the bags are not locked, nor are they wrapped,

Everyone is focusing on the theft aspect, a few are mentioning the planting of items into the suitcase but one of the other things that wrapping is good for is the protection from scratching and scuff marks which occur to all luggage.

Me personally, I'm like the rest of you, don't even lock it

That insertion issue is curious to me. How does this work in favour of them? Does a baggage handler spot a bag in say Sydney, going to a specific destination on a specific flight, opens up and puts something in it, then tells his mate in the arrival airport to find it amongst the rest, open it up and remove it? Or wait until the person collects it, then gets them to open it up and hey presto, thanks for the parcel?
