Hi,

I am flying QF10 SIN-MEL on Sat 2nd Aug and I have booked in Class T - Premium Economy. However yesterday this flight came up in my booking as being canceled and I needed to contact Qantas to re-book. I contacted them today and they said my flight was re-instated and it was still in Premium Economy. I checked my booking and it does now show as confirmed in Premium Economy but I am concerned this might be a ploy by Qantas and when I arrive I will be downgraded to economy as they might have changed the metal I am flying on. Is there any way I can absolutely find out this flight will have premium economy? The platinum customer service lady assured me it was but I am concerned. There is no way on the QFF web site to find this out as it does not specifically show which type of 747 it is using. Please help!

Regards, Tony

As it's pretty close to the plane's departure, I've lost the ability to view the seat maps (can see F and part of J, but nothing else).

The flight's availabilty is showing:

F5 A2 J0 C0 D0 I0 W0 T0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 X0 E0

Which is pretty interesting. Tends to imply the plane is fully booked except for F class.

Qantas is currently down one plane with PE (due to the QF30 incident), so there may be some flights that don't have PE even though it is scheduled.

I'm not sure there is much you can do. At best, if they can't provide PE on your flight they'll upgrade you to J class. At worst, they'll downgrade you to Y class and offer some compensation (not sure how much, but I would be following it up later with Qantas to get a fair and reasonable amount). Otherwise your flight will operate the PE.

Qantas Insiders can give a bit more info, but at the moment the actual plane to fly this route may not have been decided.

Thanks for the information. Just received a call from QF saying our plane had changed and there would be no premium economy and that I had been moved to Business Class. Thank You Qantas... Even been allocated upper deck seat so cannot complain. Thanks for your feedback, this forum site is great.
