I am a point club member, and I have redeemed a classic flight reward ticket for a family member (who is non points club member).

Would I be earning status when they travel?

Or would I only earn status I redeem reward ticket for myself and travel?

No the traveller must be points club for earning SC.
It’s irrelevant that you booked the tickets

There's also no way you can earn status from anyone else flying with Qantas, even if you booked with your points. The status credits would be awarded to the traveller (if they had Points Club).

The only comment I would add that is travelling hand luggage only, domestic flights in Australia do not generally have ID checks... make of that what you will.

Aside from being technically illegal, an issue you might run into more these days (in the current climate) is that airlines will check your ID if you engage them for whatever reason.

So if your flight gets cancelled or delayed on the day, and you need to talk to someone about being rescheduled, they will ID check you first and then you have issues!

Risky business!
