Does transferring points to SQ extend VA points for 3 yrs?

As per the title. I'm presuming if you have no activity for 24 months with VA and you transfer points to SQ this will give them another 3 yrs as per SQ expiry rules? Rather than from the time earned? ie life of points for 5yrs. There is something seriously wrong if we don't use them in that time frame!

Well yes.

But I would not recommend do this solely to gain another 3 years, and morso as SQ points cannot be extended endlessly like VA ones can be. Instead I would recommend to only move points to SQ when you have a use in mind, or if there is saya reason to move like a transfer bonus.



Instead I would suggest some minor purchase via say the Velocity Shopping Portal (ie buy something on eBay fora $1), or $1 petrol at a BP Petrol Station, to extend the life of your VA Points. It is hardly a big chore to do that every year or so if you do not have any other activity.

Personally I find that the QFF and Velocity eShopping Poratls have some very attractive point bonuses each year in the lead up to Xmas and is a good way to get some Xmas Shopping Done while building your points AND extending the life of any less active account (I have 4 QFF and 4 Velocity Accounts in the family to tick over).
