Does VA tend to release award and/or cash+points travel closer to the date of travel?

Hi,

Just wondering does VA book into the same bucket for economy award vs cash+points?

Also does VA tend to release award and/or cash+points travel closer to the date of travel?

Looking at SYD-ZQN in december very full...

Do they operate like CX, i.e. few weeks before date of travel they release inventory...

I booked SWMBO flight for BNE - LAX and no I didn't need it.

Have you taken the flight yet? VA (and every other airline flying to LOTFAP) are required to submit a list of pax in advance, which includes all this information. API it's known as (Advanced Passenger Information). I know QF have a section in the 'My Bookings' page for any flight there to add it, and I did have to provide it to VA when doing AU-US flights earlier this year (and indeed a redemption a few weeks ago MEL-LAX).
