Virgin are doing the amenity kits for Coast-Coast flights in J.

I've personally never needed more than a blanket and pillow for the transcontinental flights. Are they needed for 4-5 hour flights?

Do you think it makes QF look cheap not to have them?

Qantas does offer them on the red-eyes ex-PER. However, from my limited experience, they're the same cheap plastic pencil case-type thing given to Y passengers on international sectors.

I think for the price paid for a trans-con in J they should be offered. They cost almost nothing and can only be good PR. I can sleep on a 3 hour flight... eye-mask and socks are useful.
