I have noted an increase in the range of beers available in the domestic J lounges. I noted 9 different beers available in SYD last week! That is quite amazing.

But the best news is the Fat Yak on tap that I have seen in SYD and BNE. Its a great drop. Is it in all the domestic J lounges? A few weeks back they had Carlsberg in the dispensing machine in BNE, but now its Fat Yak

The Lounge (DJ) has had Fat Yak for a couple of years now, though bottled. I've always enjoyed it with their 'Lounge Mix'.

I am wairing for them to bring back Kronebourg 1664!

Fat Yak in place of Carlsberg? Fantastic! :D

Out with a terrible beer and in with a fantastic beer. As long as they don't get rid of Coopers Pale, I'll be happy. :)

Yes the coopers suits me fine.

Well I wish I was able to start a thread about Qantas offering nine different whiskeys in their lounges, but alas that thread would have to be posted regarding proper lounges, like JAL's NRT FLounge or LH's FRA F Terminal.

A wide selection of scotch or beer just seems much more thread-worthy than a discussion about varieties of squashed grapes :p

I don't mind Carlsberg or Stella Artois.

Some of the other beers on tap in Qantas Lounges recently (like Kronebourg) are awful.

What is the big deal with Fat Yak? Is it a wheat beer/pale ale? More like Fat Yuck....

After many trips to Malaysia, the locally brewed Carlsberg gets very weary and always look for something other than Tiger or Carlsberg when travelling in Asia.

Its described as a Pale Ale. However, its a little darker than most Pale Ales. It comes with some flavour, unlike most of the common Aussie mass-production beers that are all basically the same.

I agree, although I never get sick of Tsingtao.

On the other hand, the advantage of drinking Carlsberg in Malaysia is that the price is pretty good:shock:

Given their currency is pegged to the USD (not officially but the central bank does its best), most beers would be good value!
