Hoping for reassurance (or alternatively should I change my domestic flight times?)

I have booked DJ domestic flights to and from SYD connecting with JQ to HNL.
I have allowed 3.5 hours to get from DJ Domestic to JQ international on the way over (arrives 1425 into domestic, jq departs 1800), and 3 hrs 20 mins on the way back (jq arrives 1550, DJ departs 1910).

I have researched online and the quickest way to get between terminals I believe is the train.

Enough time? (I'm presuming hopefully it is, but as a nervous traveller I tend to worry about every little detail....)

Thanks in advance for your input.

3+ hours should be enough time, unless something goes really wrong of course. Do bear in mind that JQ International don't offer online check-in, so you need to go to the check in desks at SYD T1. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Make sure you have arranged your US Visa (ESTA) & carry a copy with you. If you can, call up JQ & give them all your passport details plus the address of the hotel where you are staying on arrival. Doing all of this beforehand will streamline the JQ checkin process at SYD.

Have you already done your seat allocation for the JQ flights?

Yes seat allocation already arranged, and have pre-booked digi-players / food for our kids as I have heard they often run out for those that don't pre-book.
Needing to renew 2 of our passports after my husband returns from NZ next week which I why I didn't enter our passport details at booking - is it possible to do that online post-booking , or do I need to phone, and should I arrange our visa-waivers first?

Get the passports first as you will need these details to enter on the ESTA site.

After ESTA approval I would try to update on JQ website but I'm not 100% sure if you can do this in which case you'd have to call them.

I believe you can do this on line.
