Hi all, I (lifetime gold) put in an upgrade request on Tuesday for a red edeal flight for my partner (FF red) for a Melbourne to Sydney flight next Thursday (I'm booked on the same flight, classic business reward so it would be nice if we could be in business together). I vaguely recalled if you request a domestic upgrade it normally clears straight away if available but it didn't - the booking says upgrade requested. Any idea what my chances are of it coming through please?

The upgrade will be assessed at your partner's status level ie Bronze. Really depends on the flight load as it if it will clear.

What is the flight/date?

This flihgt is only showing J2 C2 availability.

I am going to say it's, unfortunately, unlikely upgrade for Bronze will clear.

However you never know on a route like MEL-SYD.

I hope it works out.

Sooo....did you both end up in J? Curious after just seeing this thread from a month ago 🤓
I wonder as well now 😂
Could have gone either way. I'm only a Bronze and got the only remaining J seat on a flight in Jan, so who knows what happened!
