I just tried opening the Accor app and receive this message I cannot dismiss:

A further check on the App Store reveals the app was updated earlier today. If you can avoid updating the app, I'd recommend it, especially since my sharing third party app/website data with Accor is a non-negotiable item as an Accor+ elite.

iOS or all seeing, all knowing Google? I’m not seeing this on the iOS app update.

Eventually, everyone will need to update or delete.

Same thing happened to me! Hopefully the intention is for the app to prompt a change to the privacy settings but that you can still refuse. It might just be a bug that the prompt never comes up. If not, it’s outrageous.

Thanks - I'll let it go for a few days in case there is a bug, and fixed. I see the notes say "Minor bug fixes and stability improvements".

If you head to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Tracking" and flip the toggle for "Allow Apps to Request to Track" to off, you'll never be asked again. I did this a while ago, I no longer get pop-ups asking for permission when launching new apps, and when I updated my Accor app just now it loaded straight in with no issues. Certainly didn't see that screen above (app version 12.65.0).

Thank you! That’s a great tip and I did have that turned on without knowing it. Having said that, the Accor app is still showing the same issue.

I’ve just downloaded a further ALL Accor app update (v12.65.0) on my iPhone and no issue.

I had checked the privacy settings yesterday and “do not track” was disabled on my phone but my iPad was enabled. But neither showed that prompt.

It's turned on by default in IOS these days. Best thing ever.

Yep and you can toggle the setting app by app if want to enable or disable after that 1st prompt. Some things need that tracking to work.

I went to that settings page and can confirm that the toggle is switched off. Interestingly I don't see Accor (or any app for that matter) listed in apps requesting permission to track:

However, uninstalling and reinstalling the app allowed me to tap on Continue and tell the app to bugger off:

So it seems like most technical problems the solution is as always, unplugging it and plugging it in again! 😂

You actually want that first setting ”On”. So you can see which apps want to track you but you can tell them to bugger off up front!

I'm not so sure about that. Per the description below the setting:
Allow apps to ask to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. When this is
off, all new app tracking requests are automatically denied.
Auto-denying seems to be the privacy policy I have in mind and don't want to be bothered by requests from apps when the answer will be a resounding no regardless!

As post 13 notes, by turning the setting on you are given a choice, but turning it off means they don't get a choice to even ask you. I have a feeling when (App Tracking Transparency) ATT launched and Facebook cried all over town, Apple by default left that setting on so apps could ask and users could choose, but their preference is that the toggle is off so apps can't even ask for permission – just a blanket no.

FWIW: Hating any system such as Facebook, blogs, etc that wants to monitor and steal personal data, I have always had this turned off, of course as everyone should, and have had no issues with Accor app on phone or iPad after update.

Update: I gave the app a one star on the App Store given I can't use the app due to this dumb message. One thing I decided to do after leaving the review was uninstalling and installing the app again, and that seemed to resolve the issue. However, Accor has responded to my review saying they're aware of the bug and will have it addressed in a future update:
