I am pleased to say that today I received the double points from the above promo.

Many thanks Virgin America, Virgin Australia and Velocity Rewards... :)

Your lucky, I have been having a hard time trying to get mine. I registered for the promo flew in April LAX-IAD return with my wife which she bought the tickets on the Virgin America website Main cabin Seats. I upgraded at check in to main cabin select. I've rung Velocity a number of times over the past month and now Velocity is saying I don't get any points whatsoever because my tickets are supposedly something called 'R' class . I haven't heard of these and no where on any boarding pass or booking itinerary does it have class of ticket, and because this so called "r" class doesn't appear in the Velocity Earn for Virgin america Table on the website I get a big fat ZERO. Well as a gold member and my wife is a silver I reckon Qantas is looking good at the moment.

With VX you only get points based on the fare classed purchased initially, so in your case 50% of miles flown. If you upgrade, you dont get the extra points (dont forget, VX are a LCC) because they are just that, cheap upgrades.

Looks like they have put through all the VX double points as mine have also gone through.
