double sc offer - ongoing promo?

My partner Gold received this email today.... not sure why as their account is linked to mine and has re-qualified for PG.

This almost seems like an automated email/promotion that might get those coming short of their SC balance?

Indeed it seems that way - I got the e-mail this morning and it's the same deal, except that I am PS and have 85 SC to go to retain it. I was going to struggle to retain it but with this offer I won't have any problems, so am very pleased by the timing!

I agree with markis10 - how did you get double from 50%?

Well I got a reminder email about the 50% SC bonus I got in early Dec. to help me retain WP.

Little Miss 5yo has not received this. She is SG with 1000SCs this year (Feb-Jan). Not sure if Mr Katie has received it (also SG, July-June with only 20 SCs so far this year).

Could be a difference between being short of qualifying and re-qualifying… either way, wish I had the promotion

A 50% bonus would help get the SCs needed for SG using a JASA to HBA otherwise I'm Going to be looking for 70 SCs.

These are (usually) very targetted, for members who look like they're falling short. I posted up a similar thread a few weeks ago (and made the same mistake automatically reading "double", when it's really 50% bonus).

I'm going to re-qualify this year because of the bonus, so I'm pretty happy (particularly about the 16,000pt MEL-SYD JASA which will earn me 60SCs. )

Nope - falling short so far here for a March requal date, and the vultures have been left out to starve.

VA requal is a matter of course now however, thanks to their far more equitable offer.

As I said, very targeted.

FWIW, I find Qantas pretty generous with their comps (was comped two years ago, requalified legitimately last year, but don't want to leave it to chance this year). It'll be interesting to see how VA are with comps.
