Double SC promos

I've often read threads about double SC promos and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me; are they a perk of all SG status holders?

I'm a PS hoping to crack SG for the first time this year...

Welcome to AFF.

For each of the last two years (maybe longer) QF has run a promo where 'selected' people have been offered double SCs for flights. Last year it was all flights and this year International flights.

How and who they select is a mystery. As best anyone can see is that it is totally random and status seems to play no part in the process.

Well the most recent promotion which lasts until the end of March was actually advertised in December last year, so who knows if there’ll be another one soon, but it’s been offered to all status levels, and fairly randomly.

I was given a shot when I was a PS last year and am now SG, though not because of the promotion.

Same for me, and with the DJ revamp I suspect it will happen again shortly. The last two years have seen a promo in April, to generate more business for the close of the financial year and I would not be surprised to see the same timing again.

Getting quite late now, maybe they feel that their forward bookings are looking solid this year?

They’ve had a lot of sales though, so I’m not so sure they were solid, but may be now because they’ve had lower prices so many times.

Would be a shame if they didn’t offer another promotion, though maybe the chance to December last year is a sign that it’ll be in December again this year.

True, although maybe they are waiting for the school holiday traffic to finish along with the QLD/NT long weekend, I suspect if its going to happen it will happen with an email blast tomorrow, unless the upcoming DJ announcements make early May more likely. Who knows....its a lottery!
