Our plans for Istanbul were thrown into disarray about 2 weeks out when I applied suite night upgrades to our booking at the Sheraton Atakoy and this resulted in our booking being cancelled-possibly because I had a rate of 105 euros. It was full, the W was 400 euro a night then so we used Mrsdrron's comped diamond status to stay at the DT at 180 euro a night.
Status meant just breakfast(at least the full buffet),internet access and a welcome platter.Had to remind them of the water on a couple of days. There was no upgrade and given a basic room facing the main street which was very noisy. As brekky(even though instead of 1000 points) and internet come with gold status this left basically no diamond recognition. So to the pics-

Now it is in the old town but a decent walk from the main attractions.Fortunately the tram system is very good and a stop just outside the DT.Really not much in the way of restaurants in the immediate vicinity so we tried the DT's own restaurant as you got a 10% off voucher-definitely not worth it.
Quite frankly we preferred the location at the W Istanbul.Really not much more effort to get to the attractions in the Old Town.

Have stayed at this property twice in the last year.

180 Euro sounds quite expensive. I think from memory 120 - 130 Euro was the price I paid and quite frankly for a new hotel just near the Grand Bazaar I thought it was pretty good value.

Breakfast on both stays was excellent. Really good buffet with a choice of freshly cooked as well.
