Another complication of the change of plans for our current trip was that I had to cancel our award stay at the Embassy suites Waikiki which used up all my Honors points. So I needed a Hilton stay to keep those points from now expiring.hence this stay at the DT.
Now I have had my problems with Honors and wasn't expecting much from this stay.I was surprised when upgraded to a larger room on a high floor with an ocean view. Not only that there was a promotion offering 1000 bonus points for every 5000 Yen spent in thier restaurants.Because there was nothing much around and you had to walk uphill to get anywhere we ate in both nights. The food was good and reasonably priced.

So to the room.

I must say as a blue member I was totally surprised by my treatment here. The staff were great and I definitely recommend this hotel.

Small correction: it's Shuri rather than Schuri - might be worth editing so people can find this post in future if using the search function.

This is the one Hilton property in Okinawa I haven't stayed at yet! Both Naha and Chatan are also excellent imo, although being next door to Kadena air base, Chatan is packed with Americans.

It was mostly Chinese at the DT and Sheraton properties we stayed at.

I stayed there in March as part of the FT Okinawa do. Superb service, even received a suite upgrade but it was a hassle to get to without a car as their shuttle bus only operates at limited hours. Much better rooms than DT Naha, that’s for sure.

By the way, were the pics taken before the recent typhoon?
