I'm gold now and the family are silver. I booked a Y ticket to SYD and the family used classic points (yes probably not the best use but we have many).

We are all seated together now in row 42. If I call QF do you think they will allow the family to move forward to the 3rd row or wherever I had the option to sit? Their options were blacked out at the front.

Are you on the same booking? If not, give QF a call and link their booking to yours. I've done it before and had the fam moved from the rear to the front. Even had some friends once phone QF and link their booking to mine without telling me (somehow got my booking reference me thinks). I found them sitting next to me in row 4 when I boarded ;)

I have done this with SWMBO and myself on revenue fares and min-serfty + niece on award. This was some years ago though.

They had to refer the request to 'seating' but it was not an issue.
