Anyone up for drinks & dinner in SYD Saturday 24 August?

The occasion is to celebrate the inaugural 747 flight of Captain Dave Dosch, flying UA 863 SFO SYD, departing SFO 21/8.

MSY MSP will be on the flight ( son of the enigmatic & elusive Spaceman of OzFest fame ;)... ), as will Wijomas ( of, well, Wijomas fame. ) ( it is possible the new Mrs Wijomas will be present too ).

And it's likely that the senior UA flight instructor will also be present, plus other the flight crew & flight attendants. In all, a celebration :D

I figure at this stage drinks may be somewhere near the Radisson Blu / Park Hyatt, dinner somewhere to be determined.

It's likely that a smaller gathering would take place on Friday 23/8, however Dave will be doing the early run of SYD MEL SYD on morning of 24/8, so the main event will be evening of 24/8.

Please post expressions of interest...

Definitely interested - I have an exam in SYD that day and will be trawling for somewhere to get rip-roaringly drunk!

I saw this on MilePoint also...

I would love to come (and take the flight too), alas unfortunately I will be skiing that weekend :(

I already have a prior engagement.

However, I'll also be out and about in the CBD - so I guess there's a chance of running into others :)

Any further word on this? I'd hate to be drinking alone on Saturday night ....

Sounds like it's been a busy month for most people here!

However, no need to drink alone, there will be dinner Sat night, with hopefully lots of interesting flight stories from 2 747 pilots. And probably some behind the scenes stories from the FA's too.

Will post the location, maybe Friday after I've spoken with them. And also where we plan to be Friday for dinner.
Wijomas will only be around for lunch Friday.

Apologies. Busy weekend for me as well.

I have 2 games of golf with an early flight back to Brisbane on Sunday.

Apologies from me too, it sounds like an eclectic group and would be a very enjoyable evening.
Unfortunately I will be jealously watching from afar as I'm working and on call this weekend.
Have fun :)

Hopefully none of your locals will be lining up for the Darwin Award this weekend..

I'll float this with the +1 - I will be in town this weekend, arriving Saturday morning (and leaving Sunday evening again). I'd love to join for drinks or whatever is happening, but will confirm shortly.

Those of us who were here enjoyed lunch at the Park Hyatt, then later on, drinks at custom's House. Tomorrow looking at somewhere in Darling Harbour. Place used to be called Jack's... Will try to find out...

Let me know - I'm getting into SYD at 2:30pm - +1 has their heart set on Vietnamese in Cabramatta tonight, so I'm not sure I'm going to make it, but I will keep on trying. Will try to let you know by mid-afternoon. I'm sorry about this!

Just in, dinner tonight will be Catalina's, Rose Bay, 6pm.

We'll possibly be catching the ferry, leaving Circular Quay at 5:40. Maybe the one before.

Sorry guys, when I hadn't heard anything this morning I made alternate plans. Hope you had / are having a great night!
