I'm looking at spending a weekend in Turkey in early April.
Friday: take the morning flight from Heathrow to Istanbul. Hire a car, drive down to Gelibou. Google Maps says abut four hours.
Saturday: poke around the old battlefields, drive to Istanbul in the evening.
Sunday: look around Istanbul in the morning, take the afternoon flight back to London.
Possibly extend it another day, depends on my co-driver.
Istanbul I know reasonably well, and so long as I stay on the main roads I should be okay there. However, I'm looking for advice from anybody here who may have looked around Gallipoli or driven a hire car in Turkey. Anything i should look out for? How tight is accommodation on the peninsula?
