We booked QFF business reward seats from Helsinki to Dubai Dec 27 2024. Now we are struggling to find a way home which is brisbane using reward seats if possible as most of flights have been this for our Lapland holiday in Dec 2024 .

Is it just a matter of checking multiple ways home via asia. Or should we cancel our flight to Dubai and pick another hub to go from. I understand we have heaps of time but just seeing what paths people have found. Dubai seats are hopefully being released after the 7th I'm told.

Common problem.

Look for DXB to asia say CGK, DPS, SIN, KUL etc and see if any job there. Could pitentially purchase a cheap fare from there or reward on JQ or something. Try multi-city tool.

You going to find it extremely difficult to find direct flights home from DXB. You might be able to fly via Asia in sectors, but that will take a truckload of points compared to flying direct. What month are you travelling?

Welcome to AFF @cloudbr34k :)

Where is "Home"?

Are you trying to find awards Dubai to Helsinki or Dubai to Australia?

Not sure where home is for you...

But yes the joys of QF is booking a one way award, which you have to as soon as they are released and then hoping you get another one way reward back...

I’m sorry to say that in my experience it is all but impossible to get a reward seat from DXB to anywhere in Australia direct. Qantas does not actually fly this route so you will be on a code share flown by Emirates and they just don’t seem to release many, if any, on this route.

I care because Seat Son lives in the UAE and we try to visit him annually but even as a WP I have never jagged a rewards flight.

Also note that Emirates redemptions charge an extortionate amount of fees on top, meaning it might not be worth your while even if you find redemptions.

I'd play with options via Asia, as well as looking for different options from Europe in the first place. Flightconnections.com can be really good to see what routes exist.

Do you have only Qantas points? If you got some velocity points, look up some Qatar-bne. This flight is also in the q suite so very good!
