Hi all,
Booking two adults and a child MEL-LAX for a year's time.
Enough points for one adult, one child. And plenty of seats available at the moment.
I/my business needs to pay for the other ticket.

We have to travel together. Is there a way not to spend almost 10k one year in advance for the other ticket? I'd rather I was earning the interest than QF.

Thanks for replying- I have seen that mentioned before but typically the payment still needs to be made within a few days or weeks. When travelling via a TA friend, I also got a few days or weeks grace but had to pay before the ticketing deadline. I assume that's what happens when Qantas is the TA too. And in this case, the deadline is I think the 28th October.
It's curious because the prices aren't at all cheap and probably won't be any more expensive in 6 months time, I'm not sure why the booking has to be ticketed so early.

Different classes of tickets have different due dates. When I went to LA on Qantas in Jan 2011 I had to pay within two weeks or could pay about $80 more and then pay 30 days from departure. Ask your TA or Qantas for details in your case.

Good luck.

I'd like to pay in 11 months! I may end up locking in the FF bookings and hoping for the best with the paid ticket.
Edit : 30 days from -departure-? That changes things. I will speak to my people.
