So I have QF NB. If I fly on JL metal on a JL ticket on JL flight number will I earn points with a QFF card or do I have to join JAL Mileage Bank too?

Just make sure they have your QFF number on your booking and you will get the points. Enjoy your trip.

Depending on the fare you may even get some status credits.

Neato! Looks like I will be getting 50-70% of the full QF fare for my JL troubles. Hurrah for dirt cheap ticketing!

Not all JL flights can earn on QFF. And it varies between international and domestic routes.

Just be careful you have booked on JL/JO/JC/NU under an earning booking class.
