I've been doing some searches for flights and noticed that some Delta flights are operated by other carriers, but carry a Delta flight number.
I've looked at the Velocity site but don't see any mention about earning points with Delta in the above situation.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Jeffrey, there are a number of "Delta Connection" carriers that operate US domestic flights on behalf of Delta under what's called a "capacity hire" arrangement which is common in the US - like Cobham operating QantasLink B717s here. Yes you do earn Velocity points on these flights. A list of these carriers is below.
