We recently stayed at the Parmelia Hilton in Perth. We were given a 20% dinner in the Alelphi Restaurant onsite. We had dinner at the restaurant and put the bill on our room. I thought that I would have received points for spending at the Hilton. It seems I was wrong.

Is that correct - no extra points for dining at the restaurant during a stay?

I have always received the points. Does your hotel receipt show the extra charge when you checked out.

Did you settle your stay + dining under one invoice? If not, the points for dining usually won't post and you have to call to argue and if they can't see the bill, they won't honour the points either. My dining amount is usually too small to bother.

Sure you didn't get points for the dinner and not for the taxes on the room itself? They might work out at similar amounts. Also the points are based on USD conversion.

Thank you - we are staying and dining again tomorrow tonight so I will pay separately and ask about the other points from last time.

If you want the points, just charge the F&B to your room. At checkout, ensure you get a printed receipt and that will show your meal charges and all you need do is subtract the tax component, do a rough AUD-USD conversion and multiply x10 and you will have an approximation of your base points. Then you can add the bonus points.

We stayed again and ate at the restaurant again (this time with the whole family) but we paid separately for the meal. It seems that we did receive the points at the first stay but they were not itemised but just listed as base points, so that is why I did not think I had received any extra. This stay there were very few points (we got a deal for $99/night).
Lesson learnt - pay for the meal on the room.
I do have the receipt from the meal from our last stay (which for 6 ppl and wine it was a decent bill!). I will take it to the desk and ask about having the points allocated.
Thanks again for the replies.
