Hi
I've booked tickets to Rome for me + 4 in Economy with Etihad for KUL-AUH-FCO-AUH-MEL in April.
The KUL-AUH and AUH-MEL look eligible for VA points and I have submitted our VA numbers for family pooling.
However, the AUH-FCO-AUH legs are operated by Alitalia with an EY codeshare number.
This looks ineligible to my inexperienced eye looking at T&Cs
Is this correct or is there any chance of VA points given its on the same Etihad ticket?
If not eligible how would I go about getting QF points for those legs-do I ask for QF numbers to just be put on only those boarding passes or will I have to take it all up after we get back (I'm not keen to risk having the other legs credited to Alitalia then onto Qantas as that could mean missing out on VA Gold)
Thanks for any help from the more experienced
Andy

Correct - ineligible I'm afraid.. flight would need to be operated by EY for it to be eligible.

I'm not sure that these flights would be eligible for QF credit either (given that they were sold as an EY flight with an EY flight number).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..

EDIT: If you're really keen to get flights credited to VA, you could potentially see if EY will put you on their own flight AUH-MXP and then connect on a codeshare flight MXP-FCO (that codeshare flight wouldn't be eligible for points, but it's pretty short). Not exactly the best option, but it's an option nonetheless.

Thanks. No disaster as not too many SCs lost and they were really cheap flights
