Can someone answer this question for me?

If you book a hotel only through the Qantas website, you earn Qantas FF points.

However, If you book a hotel only through Qantas holidays, you do not earn Qantas FF points.

Is this correct?

From my experience hotels booked via QF Holidays do not earn QFF points.

I will generally book via QF Readyrooms if I want the QFF points for the hotel stay and will book via QF Holidays when they have the special bonus QFF point promotions for flight + hotel.

So my next question.

Why do you earn points booking online versus not earning points booking through Qantas Holidays? Both are Qantas and both require you to quote your FF number. Additionally if you book a flight through Qantas Holidays you obviously earn points when you fly on that flight.

Sounds very weird to me this setup and would be good to know the reason behind it all.

I went through a very painful process trying to get QFF points from Qantas Holidays with 2 promotions last year. Their rules state that you do not earn QFF points for hotel stays booked through QF Holidays but it does state that you earn SCs and QFF points for flights. It would be Qantas giving you points for the flights not Qantas Holidays.

My guess is that Qantas Holidays and Ready Rooms are treated as separate entities even though they are both under the Qantas umbrella. Qantas Holidays choose not to give out QFF points on hotel stays.

Why are you making the hotel booking through Qantas Holidays? Make the booking through Readyrooms or directly with the hotel.
