I'm about to book my trip to Nth America for later this year and have done a lot of work investigating websites, asking you guys questions and talking to travel agents. I've finally come to the conclusion that I'll be booking the whole trip online and be flying with AA except in and out of Aus via HNL which will be in StarClass on JQ. Most of the travel agents I've dealt with haven't inspired me with any confidence, in fact they've frightened me with their lack of knowledge (i.e. will you be taking the train from San Francisco to Honolulu???????????? - and I promise that is not a joke!)
My question is if I book AA flights directly through the AA website and enter my QF FF number will I earn status credits as well as FF points on all the sectors flown with AA flight numbers? The QF website leads me to believe that I will, however I called Qantas to confirm and the lady on the phone was adamant that I would not earn status credits on any AA flight booked through the AA website.
Once I've cleared this up I'm going to start laying down the cash (online of course because my human experiences to date have been very contradictory and confusing).
Any help would once again be much appreciated. You guys have helped me with a couple of other questions and your responses have always been accurate.
