Earning Status Credits Using Points

Hi,

Not sure if this has already been asked before. However, what is the ruling on earning status credits when booking using Velocity points?

Currently there is no SC or points earn on any redeemed flights, Award or Any Seat.

We were all hoping for SC earn on Any Seat awards with the revamp but alas that didn't happen. Hopefully in future!

Easier to hit status with VA though compared to QF with the lower qualification rates, so for me this offsets the need to earn SCs on reward flights.

I think though (if my memory serves me correctly) we don't yet know whether points or SCs are earned for complementary flights (like the Velocity/AMEX "free" flights with the platinum card) or for the "241" FF platinum flight entitlements/promotions.

Any further updates on those anyone?
