Air NZ started selling Premium Economy from SYD to AKL back in June or so for flights from I think 25th Oct. Has anyone flown in PE A or O fare buckets since then? I'm interested in how many Velocity status credits it earned (if any )

I'm flying SYD -> AKL -> SFO return in March but it's right at the end of my review year so the difference between getting those 90 status credits or not is the difference between keeping gold or not...

Previously I've flown that route and been booked in a status earning economy bucket for the SYD/AKL sector, earning 30 points each way. Now that PE is offered for the trans tasman sector I'm booked in A class on the way out and O class on the way back.

The velocity website says those classes earn but for Long Haul. There's no mention of Trans Tasman under PE as there is in Economy and Business.

It'd be bloody annoying if I got no points where I previously would have got 60. Velocity email support said no, I wouldn't get points, but I suspect that because PE is a new offering it wasn't updated. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated yet... Otherwise I'm going to have to book in a status run to pick up 90 points between now and March...

Have you tried contacting Velocity? (Get answers in writing via Email.)

Yup, I did a couple of months ago when I bought the ticket, and they said no status credits on those fares. Unfair seeing as it's a better fare than the economy ones that get status credits trans tasman. However that we before the flights had actually commenced. I'll ask them again in a month or so once the fares have been flying for a bit, meanwhile was wondering if anyone had real world experience.

Yes I have contacted them by email, as stated above. The answer was No! However that was before this fare class started flying.

You see in your second link under economy it has Domestic, Trans Tasman, and Long Haul. Under PE it only has Long Haul.

Trans Tasman PE is a new product. I was hoping that that web page would be updated once they started flying that fare (as it was when SQ started flying PE), but it hasn't yet been.

I'm not sure whether it's deliberate (i.e. no points, which seems unfair), or whether it's an oversight. Only way to tell is to get someone with real world experience to report back. Velocity helpdesk staff just seem to read off website.

I have MEL-AKL-MEL A class coming up later this month ... Will report back as soon as the points are credited, until then we live in hope :(

While my recent flight wasn't in A/O with (A)NZ, my VFF points for my WLG - SYD flight appeared just about 3 days after the flight, without my plodding.
If the A/O classes do earn, they will post pretty fast, if your VFF account number is in the booking system.

Note the website has been updated no to include trans Tasman premium economy classes.

Brilliant, thanks for pointing that out. I'll be Gold for another year then without having to do some convoluted status run trip. :-)
