Hello all!

I am wondering whether anyone knows if the Earth Gold promotion is for new accounts only, or whether existing accounts also qualify.
(For clarity, the promotion is 2 points per dollar spent on the American Express card)

I have had an Earth Gold (formerly Earth+) account for about 5 months.
So far I have not had additional points credited to my Frequent Flyer account.

Any info's?
Thanks heaps!

Michael

While the 5,000, 10,0000 or 20,000 point sign-up bonus is excluded for new cardholders, can't find anything one way or the other on whether the double points apply (although they don't credit at the same time).

Normally they would not - but can't see anything that says they are not.

Thanks heaps for your replies guys.
While, of course I would love the extra points, I have a feeling that I am excluded.
As Doris Day would say, "Que Sera, Sera"

I am waiting for a call this afternoon from someone at Westpac who is investigating this for me.
I will keep you posted......

My reading suggests they are, but even if they are the extra won't post for six weeks after the other points. But there may be some exclusion clause somewhere that means that existing customers are not eligible - just can't find it :)

From what I can see, existing cardholders (who switch to Earth) are excluded from the signup bonus of 5000, 10000 & 20000 points. This is specifically stated in the terms and conditions on every page on the Earth website.

There is no exclusion for the extra points on American Express spend and I shall certainly be claiming these points if they are not paid to me automatically. I have maintained copies of relevant screens and documents just in case they are required as evidence. I do this as a matter of course now as I’ve been burnt so many times by banks and telcos.

Be careful that you also receive the “50% off the first year’s annual card fee” as I was charged the full annual fee. This was later refunded to me after complaint. I also had Westpac refund my annual card fee on the Altitude Platinum card (being the card I switched from) as the annual fee was only charged a few months prior to my switch to Earth.

There are a few other threads where people have discussed being given the run around from card service, Earth and Qantas. You should keep detailed notes of who you speak with, and when, then lodge a complaint about this behaviour. I was transferred 5 times in 40 minutes and had to explain my missing points story each time. I lodged a complaint and received a very generous ex-gratia payment for my worries – without even asking for anything. I just wanted them to be aware of the bad, bad service.
