Came across this today.
Found some F seats on EK metal.
Went to book, error occurred.
Called the VIP team and they said there is no availability that they can see.

I was also looking at return flights.
There was a seat DXB-SYD in F and I asked if they could see a DXB-MEL instead.
No DXB-MEL, but they definitely saw the DXB-SYD in F.

Anyone experienced this before?

I'm having this same issue too. Have spoken with a number of agents and all have advised they can't see the availability despite the web site showing there is. Phantom availability I guess. ☹️

This is the error message I get when I try to click through to the payment page:

Is this a connection in DXB within 72 hours?

That was my first thought. This looks like a married/divorced segment issue.

@Kangol assuming your stopover in DXB is less than 24 hours, can you book this on the Qantas website if you just search MEL-BOS?

If not, can you book this if you stop more than 72 hours in DXB?

Couldn't one book a multi-city itinerary to get around married segments?

Not if they flights aren't actually available to book as married segments. You'd get an error at the payment page.

In this case, you could book each flight as a separate award (and pay the higher points cost).

Yes, <24 hours.
I searched multi city and each leg came up.
When the phone agent searched individual legs, they could not see any except for one (mentioned above).
Thoughts?

Does the availability exist on EK's website as an award? They don't always match but is a good indicator.

Remember Married Segments as well so individual legs may offer less.

Thanks. Thought it was too good to be true, given the award inventory changes since covid.
