Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

The policy you linked refers to rebooking on an EK operated flight if the schedule change is an EK flight.
This will not get customers booked on MEL-SIN onto QF metal.

Rebooking

Rebook to another QF operated and marketed flight or rebook to another QF marketed flight operated by Emirates if the schedule changed flight is operated by Emirates:”
Exactly!
By that policy rerouting on Emirates metal, even via DXB, would be fine (as long as a valid route, let alone finding a codeshare).

In any case, I'm sure there would be a specific policy published here.

Would require it to be a valid route.
I do not imagine that MEL-DXB-SIN and vv is a valid route

  • To connecting QF marketed flights operated by Emirates or QF operated and marketed flights as permitted by the route map if the schedule changed flight is operated by Emirates; “

I think that anyone who is relying on QF to rebook them from an Award ticket on the cancelled EK MEL-SIN route should be prepared for that not to be rebooked and them being offered a refund.
If I had a ticket on this that was crucial I would be looking at alternatives now.

But I suspect they will be restricted to booking valid routings. MEL-SIN probably doesn’t allow routing via DXB?

It would be wonderful if QF came to the party and gave everyone a seat on Qantas if they have booked an emirates award. But It’s not something I’d be counting on, and i don’t think it’s ‘guaranteed’ as has been suggested up thread.

Edited! ‘snap’ with princess fiona!

Does anyone have any intel on what is happening with this as I notice they are still selling and releasing points seats right up until September 2025?
I am really hoping they run it to at least Sep '25, got 2 separate QF rewards bookings in Nov '24 and Apr '25

I am booked to fly this in the first week of November, booked as a cash QF ticket. Should I get on to Qantas to re-book me or just wait and see what happens? If they cancel it, that affects what/when I book to get to SIN...

The flight will still be running first week of November for sure. They'll give more notice than 4 weeks.

QF won't re-book you until EK actually cancel it.

So now there are a lot of people (including me) waiting with bated breath for the date of the final service and hoping that it's after the date of our flight!

so can someone please confirm for the non experts, if you do book a flight and the route is cancelled by then, will emirates just auto refund everything, or just change to Qantas metal in same class?

I think it’s going to depend on how you acquired your ticket.

If you paid cash for your ticket, EK should be willing to help accommodate you on other services.

If you have an award ticket, any re-accommodation will be subject to award availability.

Flights on emirates - however purchased - are subject to the Emirates conditions of carriage. The options in the event of the cancellation of a service are limited and the choice of remedy is not with the passenger, but solely on Emirates. This is different from Qantas’ approach which allows the passenger to choose which option they want.
