Hi guys,

I think I already know the answer to this but thought I'd post just to confirm.

Booked MEL - KUL with Emirates in J and have a 5 hour layover in KUL before heading off to Hanoi with MH in Y. Is there any chance that I could gain access to the Emirates lounge in KUL as part of my MEL-KUL ticket? At this stage it looks like I'll be ticketed separately as the Emirates flight was booked as an upgrade redemption but if anyone has any thoughts on how I could combine the two if it helps my situation that would be great.

PS Not trying to scam something for nothing here but if entitled to the lounge in KL that would be great to utilise for the 5 or so hours.

I don't know the answer to the question, however I am currently looking at upgrading a Y ticket on MH to J through optiontown.
Although the flight isn't until next year, if the upgrade does come through, it does entitle you to lounge access.

It may be the cheaper way to get J the whole way, and Lounge access if you are not entitled to it with EK. Failing both, there are plenty of things (not as much as Changi) to do at KL airport.

I note they call their lounges just that, while the associated ones are called departure lounges, so you might be in luck, not tried it myself but at least KUL is a company lounge.

Thanks for the reply mannej - Did not know that MH was available through optiontown. This would certainly be a better way to access the lounge. I'll check it out. Keep the replies coming though :)

This was my thinking as well but don't know whether it is valid. If I remember correctly I'm "pretty" sure that the Emirates lounge is before the security and immigration section.
