Hi all,

First time poster looking for some assistance from an experienced hand...

I am looking at flights from Hong Kong to Barcelona next June (9th or 10th), unfortunately traveling economy. I have narrowed it down to two options - Emirates and Qatar.

Both have a similar price-tag, departure time and stopover time (In Dubai & Doha, respectively). The main difference that I can see is the Emirates flight is on an A380-800, while the Qatar is A330-200 (being a bit of a novice, I am unsure of the advantages/disadvantages of each).

At this stage I am leaning towards the Qatar flight, as I am traveling with one other person so the 2-4-2 layout has some appeal.

Am I on the right track with this, or is Emirates the way to go? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

If both your EK flights are on the A380 I would pick EK. 777 10 across whY is not the way to go.

If one of the QR legs are on a 777 I would pick QR. QR is better in Y IMHO.

I would care more about SC earn and FF point earn rather than aircraft type, if I had to choose. If you pick EK you won't earn QF SCs unless on a QF code share.

I don't know what QR points earn is like yet.
