Enhancements or simply maintenance???

I have just had problems with my seat selections, along the lines of another thread, the system was trying to charge me for Blue Zone, but I have a PE booking!Rang the Platinum line and the agent had the same problem, which he fixed very efficiently.

More interestingly in the course of the conversation the agent mentioned that much of the site would be offline undergoing maintenance this weekend. I wonder if this is enabling the implementation of SC pooling for families? When I asked the agent if this was the launch of the next round enhancements he was suddenly a little coy

So now I wait and wonder!

I find myself not using the word "enhancement" in everyday use now, thanks to Qantas. They've even managed to "enhance" the English language! :shock:

I called through tonight for another matter and was also told the site would be offline all weekend. This agent gave a little more away- the velocity site is supposedly being completely revamped/relaunched and the family pooling benefits will also be made active. Other enhancements were also mentioned but no further info provided..

Went to do seating this morning. Oh no. No access. Did manage booking through VA site and all sorted. Hope they are still there post revamp.

Just a theory, but my guess is with QF's bombshell yesterday DJ pulled the pin on whatever they were planning and restored their website to as it was at Friday. No point having your website down for maintenance when your competitor has given you the world's biggest free kick!

Agreed. It was back up at about 5pm yesterday, and from the quick look I've had I can't see anything new. One would assume the maintenance was pulled. It's a good thing for those of us looking to book flights with points in the next week or so...
