I have started using the Entertainment card rate and so far I am two from two for zero points, battling the service center re locally negotiated rates being eligible but what a PIA. Maybe I should have booked a F&F rate which was cheaper again, the entertainment card rates were the same as 25% off using Priority Privilege vouchers which always seem to post no issue.

The PC line is that it is not a locally negotiated rate, but a discount rate use worldwide. In essence, that it like the F&F rate in some regards.

I dont think I will be using it again, lesson learned, might have to check my entertainment book and see what it says re points!

I've fought for it previously (and won), but agree it isn't worth the hassle.

I used EC rate on mulitple stays and have had no issues getting points credited (recent stay the points failed to happen automatically, so submitted online claim and was amended appropriately within 5 days).

I could not see any conditions where it says EC rate is ineligible for PC points.

When I used the EC rate I have had to call and "challenge" and have been told they will provide a one-time exception and manually adjust points. Now I just use the AAA rate and show my RACQ card with the AAA logo for verification when requested at check-in (as I have been at HI Causeway Bay HK).

This is the email i got yesterday in response to my online claim:

Dear Mr. Markis10,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding credit to your Priority Club® Rewards account.
Priority Club® Rewards is issued for all room rates that are within 30% of the hotel’s non-discounted rate. Unfortunately, the room rate paid during your stay was deeply discounted and is ineligible for credit to your account.

I got upgraded to an amazing room, I wonder if the normal room rate for that room as opposed to the one I booked caused an issue.

As a followup I called early morning to catch the US call centre before the Philippines centre kicked in and got an operator that agreed with me that it was eligible, because the Philippines had already credited the stay with mini bar spend she was unable to edit the stay and add the accommodation spend so she created an overlapping stay, which of course does not qualify for 2X the points. So I got 2X points on $15 of mini bar and 1x on $250 of accomodation, cest la vie, mistakes in the past have been to my benefit so I will let it slide!
