Received a letter from Woolworths Limited today, though is directly related to the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Master Card...

An Important Notice for all Woolworths Everyday Money Credit Card, Woolworths Qantas Credit Card and Woolworths Everyday Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard® (“Woolworths Money Card”) Customers who use the CALTEX WOOLWORTHS epump™ System

On 31 December 2013 the epump system will be decommissioned and will no longer be available. This will mean that you need to pay for your fuel in-store. The great news is that there is no change to the Qantas Points1 you earn when you use your Woolworths Qantas credit card or the reward points2 you earn when you use your Woolworths Everyday Money credit card to pay for fuel in-store. Furthermore, any available petrol vouchers can still be redeemed in-store by scanning your Everyday Rewards barcode.

Might post an image of the letter later, however full details can be found here Woolworths Money

As a special thank you for using epump users shall be given one 20 cent voucher (to be used with 100L maximum) and must be redeemed before 10th January 2014

I'm a bit confused with one of the Frequently Asked Questions as follows
Q. At my local CALTEX WOOLWORTHS petrol station I’ve noticed a new service called Pay@Pump. Can you tell me a bit more about that?
A. Pay@Pump is a new service available at CALTEX petrol stations and will be available at selected CALTEX WOOLWORTHS petrol stations. It enables fuel customers to avoid any in-store queues by allowing payment at the pump.

So can I pay at the pump or not...?

With the new system, most credit/debit/related fuel cards can be used at the pump. I could never use the old system because I don't have the required card/s.

I got the same letter.

In the FAQ's:

"Yes. There is no change to the Qantas Points[SUP]1[/SUP] you earn when you use your Woolworths Qantas credit card for the reward points[SUP]2[/SUP] you earn when you use your Woolworths Everyday Money credit card to pay for your fuel at Pay@Pump."

So if there is no change, can some please explain what is the difference bewteen ePump and PayAtPump is? Is it just that it is no longer a WW/EDR/QF/HSBC card exclusive transaction - i.e. I can now use Amex?

So with the new system can you still get the fuel discount

You can't use vouchers at the pump or retrieve receipts via EDR later on.

Re: ePump system will be decommissioned and will no longer be available from 31 Dec 2

And importantly you can't earn MyerOne in addition to EDR Discount/points either.

Re: ePump system will be decommissioned and will no longer be available from 31 Dec 2

At Woolworths Kings Way South Melbourne today, the e-pay has already been replaced with Pay @ Pump. There didn't seem to be any facility to deal with fuel discounts, so seems to be poorly designed/implemented. Wouldn't think it would be too hard to incorporate a bar code scanner to recognise fuel discounts.

Re: ePump system will be decommissioned and will no longer be available from 31 Dec 2

Also doesn't seem to take Amex at the pump so it still requires a trip inside.

I've only seen Pay @ Pump so far at a Caltex that isn't a co-branded Woolies location so the discount doesn't apply. I must fill up at my local Woolies soon to check & see what happens in relation to the discount.

Neutral Bay Co-branded has the new pay at pump (which is where I picked up the brochure).

I do like the "most credit cards with a pin*"
* Excludes Amercian Express, Diners

"Most"
does not equal excluding two of the four, or one of the three major brands (I struggle to call Diners major any more)

Considering Mastercard and Visa have a market share of 80% of the available market I think the use of "most" is justified given its cards, not brands.

Re: ePump system will be decommissioned and will no longer be available from 31 Dec 2

You do all realise the retailers want you to go in the store and buy junk food.

Selling a mars bar and a coke earns them more profit than 80L of petrol.....
