Has anyone done this flight - and asked for a complimentary or paid upgrade at check-in?

Haven't done this flight, but did CGK-AUH on Etihad. The 777-300ERs that they used on that segment had a really good AVOD system, with a large 8-10" screen.

One of the better things about Etihad, is the Frequent Flyer program allows family memberships. If you're doing this flight, I suggest you and your companion join under a family membership. I don't think you can credit Etihad flights to another program.

I think after 2 x BNE-SIN return you should have enough points for a free economy trip in the Middle East from Abu Dhabi.

Has anyone done this flight - and asked for a complimentary or paid upgrade at check-in?

Given the problems some of our clients have experienced in Etihad's short AU history, even $484 isn't cheap enough to get me flying them....life's too short.

I wouldn't recommend asking for an upgrade at checkin, given what the checkin staff and duty managers are like, you're just as likely to be handcuffed and thrown in the brig for daring to ask!!
